Company makes list for seventh straight year
Louisville, Ky. – For the seventh straight year, Appriss has been recognized by Business First as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the greater Louisville area. The company ranked 43rd on the “Fast 50,” list of companies based in eight Kentucky and four Indiana counties. Appriss is one of only two companies that have made the Fast 50 all seven years.
“This unique recognition is the result of a lot of hard work and creativity by our staff,” said Doug Cobb, Appriss CEO. “We believe that staying true to our mission and core business has allowed us to continue to make this list year after year and we look forward to an eighth listing in 2007.”
To qualify for the Fast 50, companies must have a three-year operating sales history and an average of $1 million in annual revenue for their three most recent fiscal years. Cotton & Allen CPAs and Advisors, a full-service accounting and advisory firm, analyzed financial data to determine the 50 companies with the largest percentage increase in revenue over the last two years.
Appriss’ flagship product is VINE® (Victim Information & Notification Everyday) an automated service that allows crime victims and their families to keep track on the custody status of their offenders and register to be notified when the offender is released, transferred, or escapes. In recent years, Appriss has grown its list of technology services for criminal justice agencies. The list includes JusticeXchange™, an information-sharing portal that gives criminal-justice officials access to booking records, incident reports and other data, and VINE Protective Order™, which uses VINE technology to notify petitioners when their civil protective orders have been served.
Appriss also developed MethCheck™, a technology application that helps law enforcement officials and pharmacies manage, monitor and report the purchase of over-the-counter medicines used to make methamphetamine.
"In the early years of our business, we focused on a centralized data center model versus an individual site-based model,” said Cobb. “By going against conventional wisdom, we have been able to build a one-of-a-kind database and create new products from it.”
