Keeping victims informed

The time immediately after a protective order is served is especially dangerous for the petitioning victim. Far too often, the respondent reacts violently when served, putting that petitioner in further danger. At the same time, law enforcement professionals face the tough task of serving and enforcing protective orders to stay in compliance with the law.

Knowing when the order is served allows the petitioner to seek safety or call police if the respondent violates the terms of the order. VINE Protective Order automatically notifies the petitioner when a protective order has been served on the respondent.
